Woodlands Nook
coming soon!

WHERE TO STAY

Each chalet is special. These “nests” are located in the middle of 350 acres of woodlands, making them the perfect cozy corner in nature to rest and unwind with your loved one (or by yourself!) Built with Scandinavian style architecture and design, the timber and light wood work compliment the natural (Manitoba sourced) rock found on the exterior. It’s impossible not to feel relaxed at either place you stay. Both cabins are warm, cozy, open and full of lovely local southern Manitoban touches throughout and there are plenty of relaxing outdoor spaces right outside your door for you to enjoy the silent of nature.

La Chouette

This cozy “chateau” is for you if you want to be nestled among the trees with the one you love. This petit “chateau” is located in it’s own corner in the forest among the tall cathedral looking spruce, pine, and mostly poplar trees. It's easy to wander right out your front door and get lost in the magic of the woodlands.

Cabins

Woodlands

Eighty-foot tall poplar trees tower the winding trails leading you through a forest that is full of magic. From the mossy ground coverings and invigorating scent of the pines to the berries and wildlife, it’s easy to feel an instant state of calmness wandering in the woodlands.  Your body will almost immediately relax when you hear the whisper of the wind and the sound of the leaves rustling in the trees as nature welcomes you.

Trails

Two main trails exist right outside your cabin door. A loop trail that runs through the natural forest is abundant with towering poplar trees, colorful shrubs, pine trees, bird nests, mushrooms, and berries. A shorter side trail takes you to the “island of trees” where you’ll find plenty of wildlife and new discoveries every day.

Field Lookout

Located right outside of one of the cabins is a lookout to an open field full of lush little green trees, various flowers, plenty of deer, and sometimes evan a fox! Bears and coyotes have also been spotted passing through and occasionally you can spot an eagle or owl flying above. At night, the lookout comes alive with stars illuminating the big open sky.

Sandilands

If you’re wanting a change of scenery, Sandilands forest is a short 15 minute drive for our guests that want a" mini road trip", but not too far. Picnic baskets, and a map are thoughtfully picked out and included in each cabin.

Welcome to the Woodlands, where every night is date night.

Not enough people are taking the time they need to get away. We offer a perfect stay for two (or one) in beautiful cabins on a peaceful property so that when you leave you’ll feel rested, relaxed, and reconnected with yourself, nature, and the ones you love.

Bonjour, we are Albert and Pamela Frechette

We know what it’s like to want to get away and find some alone time to reconnect.

If you’re like us, you know the importance of spending time with the ones you love.

We believe that people should be able to take time for themselves, find a love for life again, and enjoy the simple pleasures in beauty and nature.

That’s why we built Wandering Woodlands.

It is our dream to provide a cabin retreat where you can rest, relax, and reconnect with what’s important.

OUR STORY

GUEST BOOK

I would give an 11/10 rating. At the Frechette's, it is better than at home. You are welcomed with open arms, they will guide you towards magical places. The place is clean and well decorated. Would definitely come back. (hope to do so one day, if the kids are old enough)
